Hello, 9400 Neighbors.

On June 30, 2009, one of my small dogs was viciously attacked by a very large dog.  The unprovoked attack took place in the lobby of the 9400 building.  The offending animal was owned and controlled by a relative of a 9400 owner.  After 4 weeks and about $600 of veterinary bills, my dog has fully recovered.  The owner of the aggressive  dog accepted full responsibility for the incident and promptly paid the related vet bills.  There were no harsh words exchanged,  There were no lawsuits involved.  The issue has been settled.

That's good news, but is that the end?  Do we breath a sigh of relief and take no action - thereby enabling the next such incident...or a significantly more serious incident?  Do we merely remind owners that only owners may have pets in the building?   Do we risk the next attack being on a child as opposed to a dog?

The members of your Board of Directors are requesting your input.  Please describe 9400 pet problems from your perspective.  Let your Board of Directors know what you think needs attention and what you think should be done.

COMMITTEE FORMED

At the July 25, 2009 BOD meeting, I was asked to form and chair an ad hoc committee to identify pet issues and recommend solutions to the Board.  I need three more interested owners to populate this committee.  Please click here to volunteer to serve on this committee.
